48 Steamy pages!  Featuring the return of beloved YIPE! writer Leigh Ann Hildebrand for the hard question we all have to ask:  what happened to the punk in Steampunk?  Our popular columnist Espana Sheriff retorts in her latest Sheriff Don’t Like It, then I ruin the whole flow with some short fiction set in an alternate history Nieuw Amsterdam.  We finally get back on topic with Steampunk Punk Priestess Mette Hedin in a new YIPE! feature: 10 Questions for a Costumer featuring this month’s sacrifi– guest, Kathe Gust.

YIPE! Volume 2, Issue 4, “Steamer Trunk,” is now available for download:

Volume 2 Issue 5 will soon be coming to a website near you.  This one!  If you have something to submit (or want to send a letter of comment), contact us at editors (at) yipezine.com

That’s right! This issue features another special guest editor, consequential LOCs, a look at how the other side lives, and anvils!

Yipe Volume 2, Issue 3a, “Thing Onn this is?”  is now available for download:

We’re already working on the next issue, and it’s never to late to join the fun. If you have something to submit (or want to send a letter of comment), contact us at editors (at) yipezine.com

We present to you, in full color, a tale of how a solitary Doctor Who fan broke nearly thirty years of quietly loving the franchise and embraced a Doctor Who convention in full costume.  It’s the issue where you’ll learn how a masquerade judge operates, and how you can make the most of your masquerade.  You’ll see one of our own coming to grips with the fact she’s now, officially and inescapably, a costumer—or so her luggage tells her.   Oh, and Mette wrote a madlib, too.

YIPE! Volume 2, Issue 3, “Our Car Runneth Over,” is now available for download:

Volume 2 Issue 4 is on its way with loads of steampunk goodness, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to join the fun.  If you have something to submit (or want to send a letter of comment, contact us at editors (at) yipezine.com

We aim to publish each issue mid-month. This means we have the following due dates for regular issues*:

  • Articles are due by the first Saturday of the Month. This gives us time to lay out the issue and look for additional images to complement the articles.
  • Final rewrites (if we ask for one) are due the second Saturday.

Photos should be the highest resolution you can provide (we can resample down if necessary). We can arrange a drop folder for you on our box.net account to avoid email size limits.

We do our layout in InDesign, so we can accept articles in many formats, including plain text, RTF, MS-Word, OpenDoc and Google Docs.

*These deadlines also apply to Your Humble Editors. Especially Kevin.
